"This was the first piece I made that started this whole body of work of exploring ideas of scale in time and space with objects from nature. And very much like my films which are mixed media, but this time in three dimensions I started collaging on top of the pinecone these figurines to convey this idea that, when you’re in nature, it changes your perspective. I made this piece at the height of Covid, when being in nature was the only time I felt safe and could gain perspective."

I love when it’s installed near one of the framed photographs or the supergraphic version of the work to explore how scale changes your perspective. ​ Then I photographed it and turned it into a supergraphic 16 feet tall.Â
